( I advise every single client to eat more fibre - for good gut health and excellent digestion and therefore better sleep and energy levels)

Green vegetables packed with fibre!
Green vegetables packed with fibre!

Good Morning dear ones! 🌾 Keep your digestion and your bowels and your gut microbiome happy with Fibre! This is probably the main thing I encourage my clients to eat more of, every day! (If you follow no other advice - follow THIS one!)

Dietary fibre aids in digestion by helping to move food through the digestive tract. It also helps to maintain bowel health, lower cholesterol levels, and control blood sugar levels. Fibre helps you feel full longer, aiding in weight control. Fibre is fermented for the bacteria living in our gut who produce short-chain fatty acids that are beneficial for gut health, immune function, and overall well-being, assisting inflammation regulation, energy metabolism, and potentially even influencing brain function. Eating fibre every day helps to prevent constipation, diarrhoea, stomach cramps and so many other stomach and gut health problems. You may need to increase the amount you eat slowly - if you need supoort with this, contact me to set up a free 20 minute consultation.

Sources: Non-starchy vegetables, whole grains, beans, apples, and berries.

Recipe: Try a Mixed Berry Oatmeal! Cook oats with water (one portion oats to three portions water), stir in mixed berries, a teaspoon of ground flaxseeds, a dash of cinnamon and a splash of milk of your choice. It’s very easy to make and we have it for breakfast at least x3 a week – or you could try this recipe from Madeleine Olivia. Perfect start to your day!
