Hello

Hi there! Thank you for visiting my site, and for thinking about learning more about nutrition and long-term health and wellbeing!

I'm a former Secondary School Teacher who has moved into the world of wellness through re-training to become a Nutrition Advisor with Natural Healthcare College. I live in the Valleys of South Wales with my husband, Ramin and our cats. We are Bahá'ís and are engaged in community building projects in South Wales, learning alongside friends from different backgrounds, Faiths and no Faith, and perspectives about how to create environments where all can flourish and grow. I am a singer, a writer and love creative projects and events. I am always keen to improve my German speaking skills and love to visit Ramin's family in Germany.

Visiting Team Labs Borderless in Tokyo Japan was a transformative experience for me - helping me learn to live with the passing of my parents, Rita and Vivian Bartlett, two shining and noble souls who illuminated life and guided the way while with us, always encouraging us to be detached from this world and focus on developing our spiritual qualities while we also serve others.

My Mum used to work as a Puppeteer for Thunderbirds - which is a very cool thing - and later served Nationally as a speaker and collaborator on many wonderful community projects.

My Dad was an author  - you can purchase his books here! To listen  to a podcast about his third book, 'Navigating Materialistic Minefields' please go here

My Story

I began my working life as Secondary Drama Teacher, worked for a few years in different schools in Aberdeen before taking the opportunity to live in Chang-Chun China for a year, teaching English as a foreign language in a Private School. I went on to marry Ramin, a gentle giant German/Persian fella who was diagnosed with and greatly suffered from Multiple Sclerosis. I worked for many years in Germany teaching English and became a Carer as Ramin's illness caused him to become more and more disabled. I am in the process of writing a book about our marriage coping with his MS and learning to thrive through upholding spiritual principles called 'The Keeper of Memories', hopefully to be finished by the new year. I am a qualified teacher (PGCE), I have a Level 6 TESOL certificate, a Masters in Drama (Script-writing focus) from University of South Wales and a Diploma as a Nutrition Advisor from the Natural Healthcare College.

My dear Mum, Rita, started me thinking about food as medicine when my brother, Kalim had chronic eczema as a baby and she supported his health through careful diet choices and Vitamin C supplements. She also consulted with a Naturopath on her Cancer journey, which we believe helped her stay alive for many more years as she took on his health and healing advice. I struggled with my weight for many years, which led me to read many amazing books in my search for an answer and my nutritional knowledge has assisted my husband, Ramin’s health in his living with Multiple Sclerosis. When my dear Dad, Viv became unwell with Type 2 Diabetes, he encouraged me to teach him what I knew, taking on my advice (even though it was just from books I had read back then) and helping his digestion and energy levels in the last nine years of his life. He truly encouraged me to pursue this line of work, and I feel my parent’s spirits are with me as I have been studying and delving deep into this new arena of knowledge, health and healing.

In 2023-2024 I re-trained to achieve a Diploma as a Nutrition Advisor and Coach. I have always loved teaching, and now my subject is less the arts and more nutrition, sleep, stress management and habit change, but every day I am still exploring and coaching the art of being human!

I believe that we are spiritual beings with a higher and lower nature. I see good in everyone and fundamentally have faith in humanity to create a better world, both within our own bodies, in our families, our neighbourhoods, our regions and the whole world. We are all one human family and need to work together, appreciating diversity in our unity. A life lived in service to others is far richer and meaningful than a life pursuing material possessions or status.  I hope that my contribution can bring a deeper kind of happiness to others, empowering those I come into contact with to believe in themselves and in their own unique contribution on the path of life.
